Not to mention the drumming is INSANE, and "technical" death metal has some of the best guitar work I've ever heard.

I don't listen to a lot of the newer stuff but I do still listen to a lot of the 90s stuff. Some of the bands I like are:

Pantera
Metallica
Megadeth
Skid Row

Pantera is one of my favourite bands along with Machine Head. The new Megadeth album is a pretty good album, some nice headbanging moments. And Skid Row, gotta support the local boy Bas even if he is a bit of a dolt

I also forgot a band in my original post, one of the greatest bands that doesn't even really exist... DETHKLOCK!
