I'm very new to fish i just bought a convict pair 2 days ago and all i had in the tank was gravel, a small rock and a flower pot. i wanted to have a nicer looking tank so i bought a few items and put them in.
heres my original tank

and heres afterwards

here are my questions
are the changes going to affect the breeding?
ALSO my females pretty small and my males pretty big is that a problem?
how long does it usually take to get some babies?
should i take out the stuff i bought and keep it the way it was?
and does my tank look ugly? haha just wondering be honest

thanks please reply i havnt gotten alot of answers in my previous posts i thought it was because i posted in the wrong place.

that tank looks like it will be good enough for them to breed in. all they need is a cave or a flat rock
your tank looks nice but lose the tacky gravel

The tank looks just fine the way it is, if you like it then it is fine. convicts will breed no matter what the tank looks like. They will breed in the clay pot that is in there with them.
Looks great!!

tank looks great, befor and after. i agree that convicts will breed with just a flower pot. not sure about the gravel also. black gravel would look much better. but the tanks still looks great the way it is. off topic but i really like the oscars in your avatar. are they yours and do you still have them?????

Perfect setup for breeding, In aprox 3 weeks you'll be over run with small beautiful convict fry, What are you going to do with them?

thanks for the replies!
what do you mean by tacky gravel? what would be better? and how do i remove it.
as for my avatar that was a tank at one of the fish stores i go to also my sig is pics of some tanks there too!

i wanted to get real plants but wen i put my hand in my tank today the male kept attacking me?? is that normal
again thanks for the replies

Why worry what other people think of how your tank looks. If you like the gravel then keep it. I am always amazed how quickly people jump on someone who doesn't use "natural colored" gravel. Most lakes and rivers have sludge covered bottoms anyhow, now that would look attractive.

Your 20g will do fine for now, as your convicts grow the male will most likely get bigger then the female. You should provide some caves that the female can fit in but the male cannot.
