Why do you have to think about swallowing monkey? Why not rip it apart and eat parts of a Monkey? Or all of it that way?
I was the one if not one those who mentioned about Giant Snakeheads eating monkeys. It was when I went for Giant Snakehead fishing that I came across this particular stories although I have grown up hearing all others.
A cab driver who spoke about Giant Snakeheads in his hometown during flood jumping out of the rivers to eat monkeys..and they did. And then a scuba diver who told me about coming across a five foot Giant Snakehead. He told me such specimens were caught using ropes tied to a tree and he told me when one does that you can enjoy watching the tree swinging because of the power of the Giant Snakehead.
And then from fishermen who spoke of Giant Snakeheads knocking at their boats from below and even hitting one while going to a spot...which meant how big they must have been. It is rare to witness a specimen like that today due to excessive fishing. If there is a remote place which isn't invaded...then it would be a perfect spot. There are also stories / news of Giant Snakeheads killing swimmers. I heard a news from an angler about Giant Snakeheads being killed in a lake when they wanted to use it for swimming.
In its native country, all this is common...outside...is a myth, a rumor, a legend, a joke. Honestly, I am yet to witness anything like that myself..but when I do, I'll have the picture here.

...thanks a lot for sharing that Phen_dox. I have heard stories of people losing their fingers but never witnessed any myself. I heard this sad story from a local angler. His friend had a Giant Snakehead and while this friend's friend came over...this friend's little daughter was sitting before the tank witnessing the magnificent beauty.When it was the feeding time, the Snakehead got so excited that it followed the owner dashing around until it cracked the glass making the pressure shatter it. The glasses that showered the poor girl made her blind.....
This story sounds crazy...am I supposed to believe it? I don't know but that's what the angler told me. The incident was unbearable for the little girl's family that the guy had to release the Snakehead in the wild.

what make her blind? is it because of pieces of glass into her eye? i heard too many stories about giantsnakehead from people.. and i things not all were true..

There is one the size of a bus. I was watching this documentary about it on the SciFi Channel....j/k
