I have a Freddy and an RTM. They are both 3-4 inches. Any guesses on gender?

I’m going with male on the Freddy and female on the mota. Are they sharing the same tank? If so the mota MIGHT be a recessive male

For now they are both in a 125 together.

With either species the profile will be higher in males, and more torpedo shaped in females. Here are some examples.
young (yet sexual mature) male motaguense

closer up, note the smaller sporting

now compare a female

note the lack of smaller spots on the female but the few large ones

These traits (especially the high profile) hold true on most all the Parachromis like predatory species and their cousins
A male Nandopsis tetracanthus below

now a female

Below a video from a Cenote in Mexico with a young female friedrichsthalli below (in the carwash Cenote Aktun Ha), she shows up at about 1 minute in,
some other cichlids are Tilapine invasives
