I doubt they bred. A female may have laid some unfertilized eggs, but i'm sure that's it. No one has been able to breed Dat's in a home aquarium before, let alone 2 separate species together. And the fact they were so small makes it even harder to believe.
Is a very nice Indo though.
Thanks for the comp, TZCeli.
It doesn't really matter if you beleive me or not. I'm not a liar, I wouldn't say anything unless it were true. I don't get anything or get down like that... not not my style. I just call it how it happened. Anyways, I'm aware of
"No one ever being able to breed dat's before"... but I'm sure there are many few incidents/events that go on (especially overseas)... undocumented. Behind closed doors... Now letting it be known and going public, even further... wanting to
"share?"... that's a totally different story?!!
So what are your thoughts or feelings about some of these dat's that have multi split bars on them? '
Hybrid' dats... or their
own species??
Just to mention, had a dat once in the past... on one side,
(right side) of it's body... had perfect IT bars. On the other side
(left side)... had (3 stripe) pulcher 'widebars'. I mean unless you weren't able to see both sides of this fish, you would think for sure it were either, a 'Widebar', or an Indo. Both sides, clean straight bars... no 'split bars showing at all! I have a video of it somewhere... I'll see if I can dig up and post it.
