Kinda of. He stays with my mom but he's a family pet. He's more my brother's though. He named him and when we were kids that meant that animal was yours lol.

We had a similar rule: if mum named it, it was hers hahaha

I think an outdoor lifestyle is what cats need, my hubbys grandparents had a cat that was 21, unfortunately they lost her a few months back :( but she lived her life the way a cat should, hunting, climbing, decimating the bilby population (), and she was fine, lived a good long life and died a well loved cat.

The only problem (where I am at least) with cats is that they destroy the wildlife and have no predators, so if you let them outside, they kill EVERYTHING and if one gets away, there's nothing to kill it.

Outdoor runs(fenced can probably increase a cats lifespan. At a horse stable I used to work at ther was a cat estimated to be from 35 to 40ish years old(the reason I say estimated is because there is some confusion on his age when he arrived),this cat was a small orange tabby.

My gf was actually just talking to me about feral cat problems in Australia. My gf and I have two indoor cats but I know from experience that keeping outdoor cats doesn't always work out :-/ so unfortunately ours are kept inside. But old man Trini has always returned home.
We worry every winter whether he's time will come or not. He's mad it through some pretty rough winters.
