This my male Dempsey and my oldest fish. He's probably close to 11 years or more. He's not the biggest Dempsey but he does have his moments

Probably 8-9 inches, currently he's with a vieja mutt and a Texas mutt but he's lived with some brusiers from huge midevil, Butti, Managuense, Blackbelt, mutltiple convict pairs,Oscars, other jack Dempsey, pike cichlid, Firemouth, blood parrots and he's outlasted them all

Usually old man JD develops a crooked back. His body still looks young. Getting 11 year out of him is a record. Mine lived 8 to 9 years maximum, and mellowed out a lot as they aged.
