Hello; I just now read thru this thread. I could have been watching a PBS shoe on saving the Ozone layer. But no I had to check out this thread because I heard someone was back from being banned. Its true.

Two things would like to see from new members. No three. One is no long run on sentences. Break it up into paragraphs and such with some punctuation.
Another is to give plenty of information about a problem. Not just "My fish is sick. What is wrong?" Give as much detail as you can. How many times I have been drawn into a thread where I wind up writing ten times as much as the OP and it takes pages of this to finally get enough information to make a decent suggestion.
Do a search now and then. So many good threads and stickies which have probably dealt with the issue already.

We all knew the kid was b.s'ing why does everything on here need to be an echo chamber ?Yeah he was trying to hide his early comment however idiotic it was why the need to dig and dig, so him getting in trouble for something stupid is worth the self gratification?

It wasn't about self gratification at all -- besides preserving the integrity of the site, in fact I think (and hope) that we actually SAVED that kid from getting into trouble. From our replies I'm pretty sure he realized the gravity of the situation he was about to get into, and if he has any sense at all, our strong (if seemingly overly righteous) comments helped steer him away from getting into what could have been possibly a lot of trouble -- which could have had serious repercussions on the rest of his young life -- just for a friggin' fish! Better our strong comments than to enable and support this possible outcome by turning a blind eye imho.

And just for others' reference, as already clarified to him my joke about jaws7777 being the record holder for closed threads, was exactly that, a playful jab, I actually have no idea who holds that record.

Regarding changes to the site -- that's natural in just about any forum, as life outside of forums continues to move on, people and even norms change over time -- no forum is or should be stuck in a vacuum. And while there may or may not be more drama compared to the 'old days', I think there's still a lot of good info on MFK and a lot of people who care about helping others and contributing to the hobby.

Things change and people come and go,. The thing is that in the grand scheme of things the fact that MFK is still going and has regular posters shows how good the place is, most other forums are completely dead. Forums like this were some of the first social media but these days the options are much greater, people go for the quick option. I wouldn’t class myself as an OG just an OLD lol
