That's the pic I was lookin for!!! and if I remember correctly, this girl adopted a tank w/ fish which included this huge ~10" con. She was trying to get it ID'd on another board. Someone tried to poo in her cereal saying it was a midas/rd x con hybrid. I think it's all con.
Looks like a pure convict to me too - if you do some research on em' certain wild strains have been reported found IN THE WILD up to 12" in length - but they've been so inbred in the hobby that they're not different from the red devil/midas you'd buy from a PetsMart.
I had a few big boys a couple of years back but got rid of 'em to make room for others. I am growing a few out now and use their babies as feeders.
The reality is, no one keeps these as "display" fish after a year or so. I actually like them, along with Neets. They know how to fight for their right to party.
