I guess old is relative, I've had him 8 years now. Not sure how old he was when they were imported, I want to say they were 4" long or so. Not sure about growth rates in the wild but my guess would be that they were at least a couple years old when imported.
Thanks.
Not bad, not bad. When you said old for an amph I thought you meant up there with Rusty Wessel's or TUICs older ones in their early 20s or late teens, but 8 years is still impressive, and hopefully he'll live as long as the aforementioned others.
If he was imported at 4", I'd say it's safe to assume he's probably somewhere between 8 and 9 years old now, maybe leaning closer to 9.
The blood parrot I get my username from died at 10, I got her before she peeled at about an inch, so I'd say it's safe to assume she was all of 10 years old. And that was with all the blood parrot issues.
