No! I love the old stuff! I get made fun of because I still buy and use the little "bubblers." In fact, I drove my wife nuts trying to find a Lustar Jumbo Bottom Filter that has been out of production for about two years now. I finally did find them and bought two.
How fun can that be??.....:D

Hey! Does anyone still use any of the older, more "inferior" gear like air driven corner box fiters, sponges, UGF, etc?

Not sure I wood call them inferior. When we bred Angels a long time ago thats all we used. If it ant broke dont fix it. I still use sponge filter on all my intakes as a prefilter. I clean them weekly and I'm amazed at how much sludge I get from them when I rinse them out.

I have air driven sponge filters in all my tanks the airpumps have a battery backup
in case of power failures.I also have a box filter in my stand by box if needed. And my father still has a cpl of slate bottom tanks which are great during power failures as you simply heat the slate bottom with candles if needed-Anne

If you visit large aquatic wholesaler, you see nothing but sponge filter. They work and is especially suited for use in fry tank. A single blower can power over 500 tanks. This is also the cheapest way to filter large numbers of tank.

i use air driven filters on my litter tanks and tubs

That's cool that he still has those.

I have an old 20H Metaframe with the slate bottom. I love it.
