Thanks, MeiTnerium109. I read the section on tumors. I don't think he has a virus so I guess he has cancer. Tumors are listed as non-infectious and non-treatable. If in distress, destroy.
I am starting to get my head around the thought that he has cancer. I lost my 8 year old Bullmastiff to lung cancer a couple of years ago. Like the GK his appetite was good, but eventually it was difficult for him to breath so he was essentially suffocating and we let him go. I'm not sure what kind of cancer fish get so will do some reading and watch for signs of distress.
