So I always see the who has the biggest, but who has kept one the longest?

I read on google today that they only had a 10yr lifespan

I've had my largest ST for 3 yrs next month. He has went from 4-5" to 12". He started beating up his brothers when he got bigger and I was forced to sell them.

A couple of my tigers would have to be hitting the 5-6 year mark now.

This is a pretty thick question. At any one point the person who has had thier dat to shortest will be outnumbered the the next person who just aquired a datnoid.

The smallest dat is the same as above. Someone may purchase a 1" dat and it could hypotheorcticly be the smallest day there is, but 4 hours later, some bloke over in Goongalon probably brought a .75" dat. If these people didnt have the internet, we may still be awing over someone who has had there dat for 2 weeks and claimed for it to the the shortest kept or smallest etc.

I talked to a guy that was very knologeable in Dats and he thinks there lifespan is 20 years or more. He has Dats that are over 10 years already and he said they show no signs of slowing down. I have had 2 ST's for over 2 years now and a NGT for over 2 years.

Their growth rate would suggest your friend is right. Usually a fish that grows slow, lives long. 10 years seems way to short. remember most info on the web about Dats is wrong.'

My oldest Dat, I owned for about 2 1/2 years, and my guess is that it was about 6 months old when i bought it.

i have had the ST i have now for 5yrs it was 2-3inch when i got it 13inch now

i have sold it and brought it back twice

the longest it has been away from me is 1yr
