Just for fun - as i see you are discussing prices on p.motoro:

I bought a small motoro, about 5 inches, for 255 dollars. Thats a normal price here in Norway.

Price for matured motoros, at the size of that one, are often actually 1000 dollars and higher if you buy it from a retailer (tough matured rays are a seldom sight). I have seen motoro for almost 1700 dollars  This specimen were about 16-19 inches around the disc.

Quite a difference in prices. Norway is in general an ******* expencive country to live in, to put it like that :D

To ray keepers, the ray is nice but not worth that much money

To someone who does not know anything or has not done any research, they may buy it for $500-$1000

As sad as it is, we all know it happens, this is why vendors do this. Eventually they will find the right buyer.

remember its $ not £ bruse, but you would still get a pearl for the price of that motoro.

If that was a 10" female pearl ray or that quality would you guys pay that?
I'm a total noob when it comes to buying rays.

A 10in pearl for $500.00 would sell very quickly! At least I'd buy it immediately:naughty:. It is indeed a nice superspot but like Trev said, the spots tend to fade with age. But I think it is at least worth $250-$300. $200 for a 10in female superspot is not really giving it credit. A regular female motoro at 10in might cost $200 but then again, maybe Nic knows something I don't...

Understandable...but in this game, we tend to pay for appearances. But you're right. The consumers either affirm or refute the prices. And some may pay what others won't. Bottom line...$500-$1000 is indeed too much!

I think thats a nice ray. I'd pay about $500 max. Mainly because my lfs never gets a ray in over 4". My male coming this week is the one exception.

I've heard they're about as common in Peru as saltwater rays are in the florida keys.
