check out the face, tail, barbels, size of mouth, shape of body. They are closely related, so look similar, but are two very distinct fish :)

Apon closer look, they are a bit different
Barbels are more thick, face looks "Bonyer" for lack of a better word.

Not much info about them on PlanetCatfish.
They seem like a very interesting species, I'd really like to try one out.
Would I be able to keep it in the same way as I would a gulper?
Planetcatfish says they are quite active at night, so I'm thinking a larger tanksize is needed than what is required for a Gulper?

koltsix could best answer your questions. He has had one with gulpers for a while. They are definitely hiders, and swim around at night. They are more timid then gulpers, and exactly like you said, they are bonier. My gulper feel like water balloons. These guys have have a very hard, bony head

oh yeah, I definitely like the gulper better, but I LOVE the trachy's body shape :hearts:
