I lost my first ray today :cry::cry::cry:

One of the two hystrix I got from Aquascape died last night. I have pics of her that I took that same night. You tell me if she looks sick. I also have pics of her belly it is all red, it was red when I got her. I see a greenish lump/spot in her belly, is that normal. And then I have pics of the 2 retics and 1 remaining hystrix who is already eating. :)

I know Aquascape is a great place to get live stock, can this be internal parasite? or was there no chance for this ray.

OHH that is so sad. She sure looked good to me. Very sorry about your loss. Does look like she might have had amonia burn from transport...but sure didnt look that bad...Big BUMMER...good luck with the rest of your rays

Sorry.....

the pics alive looks like the body is sloped/tilted/slanted to the left side, the ray's right. Was it not moving much or swimming in circles or irregular?

Agreed. The fact that the other two rays are doing well in the same tank as the one thats unfortunately died suggests that this is an isolated case, newly imported rays often arrive with Ammonia burns but if this is excessive it can turn into a secondary bacterial infection which results in death.
Very sorry this has happened to you,it always hurts when we lose our rays.

x3 ...you need to acclimate the newcommers and you need to keep your water pristine until they get used to their new environment. Sorry for your loss :(
