Some people?!?! Are you that much of a hardened grizzled ray vet that it's not hard on you anymore?;)

Sorry for your loss. It's why I keep chickening out in bringing any rays in.:(

Finally was able to get in contact with them, they are going to replace her with another one. Minus shipping charges to me. So I guess it will be alright, I just hope they can get me another female.

I'm sorry for your loss...

This looks exactly like what happened to our 8 wc hystrix pups, especially the red belly. We got them in December and lost the last one just a month ago. There was nothing wrong with the water values, no ammonia at all, we tested the water several times a day, kept the rays dark after the first losses. They were even eating well so I still don't know what went wrong...

We noticed that the pups turned darker before curling (and the skin seemed to dissolve) so we managed to separate them from the "healthy" ones, so that the healthy ones wouldn't go into a curl because of stress.

WOW, sorry for your losses. Looks kind of the same thing that happened. Fins curled just alittle, and it dies out of no where. did not show any signs of stress or pain. It did stay in a corner for awhile, but I figured it was still getting acclimated.

I was think maybe ammonia burn or internal parasite.
