i have the following fishes in my 100gal community tank (please note that some of these fishes are only here temporarily, yes ino about their potential size ;])
1x ebjd 8" (assuming male, 9/10)
2x jack dempsey (one is male 5" (IMO) the other, 100% positive and vented female 4")
1x parrot fish 8" (full grown i think. IMO male *likes to show off* lol, very agressive)
1x giraffe catfish 7" (idk gender very cute and yes i know they get 3' please see above)
1x featherfin synodontis 8" (full grown, extremely temperamental and prone to constant tantrumes with the giraffe who she hates ROFL)
1x bala shark 6" (idk gender i hear its impossible this one likes to pick fights with the parrot fish)
1x datnoid (indo) 7" (this one LOVES his corner since infantsy he lets the 5" male (assumption) jd pick on him)
my ebjd and an unkown mate whom i havent been able to figure out (probs fm) have been sitting under the driftwood (the xl piece in the center of the tank) and the fm has been cleaning a piece of slate i put in their yesterday. this morning i woke up to find the ebjd (who was raised from egg in a tank with guppies and previously thought to be unagressive) to be flaring his gills to an extent i have never seen (it looked so flared out i thought the gills were gonna fall off i could see all the organs in the gills) at the datnoid (he ran away like a baby to his corner ;]) (the fm has her spawning coat on very dark coloration) so now im wondering if i should remove the featherfin (their kin, cuckoo's which i own are known for eating eggs, just look at the shape of the mouth) or will the jack dempsies be able to defend their turf (in the center of the tank) from all the fishes?
pics will be uploaded within the hour
