I agree.I would be checking for any wear in your impeller.Maybe sand has been getting in there and slowly grinding it away.Both in filters and power heads.
I would think not if they are small enough to get forced out with the sand and water pressure.I have to replace the power heads in my tanks every now and then due to wear from sand.I have noticed on some, the magnet on the shaft has had a fair bit of wear from sand getting in there.I use a hose on my power heads so it picks up water at the bottom of the tank so they cop some sand abuse.These particles have to go somewhere though I would think harmless to inhabitants.May not be the case here but worth checking IMO.Nothing worse than pump failureDr_Shakalu;1710496; said:If it was an impeller problem, wouldn't the particles have been caught by the magnet on the impeller shaft first before going into the tank?
