OMG, the "LFS" is using mollies to test saltwater!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yes, I had that issue in my early 20's. Can be just as self-destructive as alcohol IME. And alcohol can't give you genital herpes, or get half in a divorce settlement. ;)

No, not really. I once found some mollies that had somehow made their way into a small "sump" that was used to drain the old tank water at my old job, as well as sink water. So they were exposed to every single disease and chemical disease treatment from every tank and hand soap and bleach from the sink. They had been living there quite a while too because they were big and we hadn't kept that color variety in a while.

There isn't really much you can do about that. It's their fishes, their business.
Just close your eyes and pretend you've never been into that shop.
This is the sad side of the hobby.

Someone should make this a sticky for all the petco/petsmart threads that get started.

anyways, back on the thread. so anyone feel its amazing one of the mollies is still alive in such high salinity?
How many mollies are left alive? Only one? I've had black mollies thrive in SW. I was supposed to feed them as surplus for my lionfish as I bred too many of them but the couple survived predation.

I've actually seen some decent fish care in chain stores. Really depends on the store/staff. Some smaller LFSs in my area are WAY worse than my local petsmart.
