If money is not a probem go with the Fx5 if your hard on cash 1 or 2 xp3s dont get a xp4. >.<

Ya the only thing Ive every heard bad about the Fx5 is its harder to clean than a rena but if you going to pay for a nice filter why would you care about a little extra time to clean it. I wish i had a Fx5 but had to go with the Xp3 do to the Xp4 haveing alot of problems and Petsmart (where i work) doesn't carry Fx5s so no 15% 30% discount and my paycheck isn't that great.

I'd prefer to spend a lil more and get a better filter. Found an fx5 on ebay for 225 shipped.

I've only had an FX5, but Eheims are said to be great filters, also. It's your call.
