Recently a "new" fish has been showing up at a LFS, an albino Ompok Catfish. Looks interesting, any one had them? Heard that you need at least 5 to keep them happy but they are $35/fish! $175, Ouch.

Never heard of needing to maintain 5. These aren't shoaling cats like Pangassius cats. And, at 18" adult length, a shoal would need a big tank to keep them from bumping into each other. They're fine with other fish their length. Smaller fish just become part of the menu. Look up Ompok bimaculatus for more info.
