are these all the same fish? but with different names? the look the same, dovi/jaguar/managuense...which one is the mean one once it gets big?

Managuense & 'jaguar' are the same fish with the latter being the common name. Dovii gets appreciably larger than managuense but both are quite territorial in nature. No fishes are 'mean', that's an exclusively human trait..

^^haha! well i heard Doviis get real aggressive. then i would think flowerhorns, red devils, jaguars, and red terrors are most dangerous.

can any of them be kept as community fish w/out killing each other, depending on tank size?

jaguars and festae can be kept in a cichlid "community" tank if the tank is big enough and they are raised together, but the others most likely will end up killing everything

Depends on how big the community is. I have heard of a number of people keeping jags with other cichlids. Must be a good sized tank for it to work. I wouldn't even try a dovii long term in a community. Dovii are also "dangerous" mainly because of their size and teeth. Not to say they aren't generally aggressive, but it is why they win out when grouped with others.

This about sums it up.

so i guess keeping one with an aro community tank is out the question? say in a 240?
