i keep a jag, jack dempsey, green terror and jewel in the same tank. I got them all at the same time at a very young age/size in order to see how they got along. I also got a true texas, another JD another Jag and a flowerhorn, however...texas was a brute, killed flowerhorn and attack everything so gave it away. the JD i have now killed the other JD, and the Jag i have now killed the other jag. So now thers just the four of them with the occassional dominance asserting but nothing major. The jewels the boss, then the Jag, then the JD then the GT. TBH its trial and error but have found it easiest to adjust when they are stil at a young age. Hiding spaces are important! I wouldnt put a dovii in ther or else ther wouldnt be any other fish

as long as the tank was big enough i wouldnt see there being a problem with keeping a single male jag or festae with an aro community, they wouldnt really see the aros as competition so wouldnt bother them (of course there are always the insane exceptions where they just have to kill everything but this isn't common). as long as they are raised up together should be kind of a cool looking tank with all the arros up top and a huge jag or festae specimen dominating the middle/bottom

A male Dovii will need the 240 to himself within a couple years. I have seen people on here having Dovii in community tanks.....not many though. There are not many 15" in community tanks. Female Dovii get much smaller....12" or so. I would say you have a much better chance with the Jag or Festae.

You might be able to keep a female festae in a community tank a male will kill any other fish even if you have a 300+ gallon

as long as he is not paired up then he shouldn't, i mean of course there are those psycho killers that you get sometimes but for the most part a single male festae by himself usually wont go out looking for a kill like a dovii or flowerhorn would. there are lots of members on here who have them in their tanks without issue, from what other members have said it seems like its the lone females that actually give people more problems...

I have a couple small jags with jack dempseys, convicts, smaller fh's, and a green terror and they seem fine for now. Although I wouldn't suggest putting anything smaller than the jag in the tank...as I found out when I put a frontosa in my tank with the jag it barely touched the water and the jag destroyed him! $30 down the crapper!

Dovii is the #1 most aggressive fw fish, jags are #8. Red devils/midas are pretty aggressive. Butterkufori, flowerhorns, motaguenese, are just a couple that stands out to be pretty tough. My jag got FU by butterkufori. First butter was getting bullied then 1 day it just had it and started to bully the jag :ROFL:then killed it when i was at work. I was . Google is your friend. But really any of these specially the dovii, paired with a mate and its pretty much over. GL!!
