I think you need lids. With enough surface agitation, alot of heat loss can take place. Surface agitation is great for oxygenating the water but not so much for heat loss. (exposure to cooler air cools the water) Lids an option?
If I don't keep my sump on my 220g covered the same thing happens, it cools pretty quickly. That tank is in the garage though.
i wuld say just get some lids that shuld do the trick your heater shuld be good enoph for 75 gal.
