yeap it's completely crazy! im well aware of this fact..... and i can only justify it by the fact it is easily of equal value to me to own a african as a rtg of equal price, and its the only way i hae found in years to obtain this fish...

thanks oddball! your guy is awesome! I think he has already on of my favorites before he arrives! what sort of growth rate should i expect from a 12" african?

After a foot, mine slowed down a bit. But, it still reached 18-19" by the end of the 2nd year. Growth has been between 4-6" this past year since and he's still growing. I just moved him to the 650 gal to give him some turning room.
