Ophiocus, if you havent seen a rough green snake musk, I dont know where youve been... I was on a bike trail around a lake and my dad saw one. I picked it up and it musked all over my arms, gloves, handlebars, and my shirt. I practically cleared a path once we got to the parking lot!

Listen here, sport...I've lived in the Southeast all my life. I used to keep one, and I've dealt with numerous others over the past 10 yrs. Apparently, they don't feel the need to musk on me, hence my lack of experience in that particular aspect of their behavior. I never said that they never musk at all.

Don't be a troll...there's enough of them as there is.

Trolling? What? Im just sharing my experience of being musked. Where did you get trolling out of that?

Anyway... Captive snakes are normally mellowed out so Im not surprised captive ones didnt musk you. And youre a competant herp keeper so I doubt you did anything to piss them off. The one I caught was the first snake I saw after moving to Va and the first one I had ever seen, so I was excited and let it defend itself me being an idiot lol

I once caught a rough green snake and kept it for several months. It didn't musk on me, but it thrashed and snapped every time I picked it up....which was very rarely.

I believe that was the only wild green snake I've ever seen.

Hey wurm, if you haven't already looked for a snake, you should check out Leaping Lizards in Burnsville. They are a nice small reptile shop with a decent selection. Its right by Renegades bar and grill if you know where that is.
