Google is full of chaff, so finding a particular fish is next to impossible when searching by species. It is quite clearly a barb, or a very close barb relative.

sounds to me that you havent even tried. researching actually has a higher chance of knowing ur fish than describing it here.

How would you come to that conclusion after my stating that Google is full of chaff? This indicates quite clearly that I have actually tried to find it online without luck. In addition, there are probably some galleries/websites that I have missed, that YOU might be able to point out.

I'll go out on a limb here and say Fei Feng..........:) I had one in the past kinda sounds like your description!!

:)

If not Oh well!!...I tried...and G/L with ID!!

Nope - the fins are nondescript, and it isn't striped - just "checkered" like a Checker barb, but thanks for the suggestion!

Dang!!!.......Guppy and / or Oddball up!!!!

P.S. maybe borrow a digi cam and post pics since you dont have one to save yourself posting a 103 posts on this mysterious Barbs ID!!!;)

Could you add the DESCRIPTION of my fish to my new thread titled barbus callipterus, and close THIS one? I hope it's not too much trouble, but I think I am getting closer to an ID.
Thanks
