I went again today at the Ohio River. I caught two hybrid about 5lbs and a small 13" stripe. The catch of the day though was a 4ft spotted gar about as thick as my leg!! I thought I had a monster stripe on but when I finally got the fish in I was surprised to see it was actually a gar! FOr those of you that dont know gar are relativly hard to catch. Their scales are like armor and their mouths like stone so itsnext to impossible to get a hook in. Not to mention the hundreds of teeth they have that can break your line! Well I had a one in a million hook set in the only soft part in a gar...under the chin. I estimated his weight at 30lbs. It was a 20min on 10lb tackle! Saldy no camera....
