Because you can not does not mean some others can't. Can not say that about others when they are more knowledgeable Chris. Maybe thay can tell, that's why they would say they can. Some may have more attention to details than others.

animal guy ........ that cichlidae article is 30 yrs old, and most of the info in it explaining how to differentiate between the two species is no longer valid. Once again I will post this link to the following sticky.

Chris was 100% correct, one cannot simply look at an amphilophus & determine whether it is a pure labiatus, a pure citrinellus, or a hybrid mix of the two.

You can't do something does not mean others can not. It takes a keen person and not all are like that.

If you are not capable it does not mean you should discredit the more capable. Not trying to be offensive to Chris. Just being real. cann't put in any better way but Im sure someone else can..

And there are always disbelievers like yourself. That's why lots of bets and surprises are made sometimes.That's nothing new in life. I believe in thi world there are more capable ppl than me in every aspect.
