Fall River Ma.
ok so can people just give me thin imput on their way of sexing blood parrots? i know there are several was but i still cant tell which one of my 4 is female!!!!!

no surefire way, besides venting and checking the breeding tube.
breeding tube will be blunt and fat if female, skinny and pointing forward if male. vent will be shaped like a U if female, V if male.
besides that, for ways that arent 100%, but have worked for me, there is: fatter belly on females, males tend to be lighter, males grow faster, and Supposedly, the males have less of the parrot notch on their head because they allegedly will have a small hump(although i don't believe this one).

Males get humps...Females do too sometimes.

females sometimes have black markings somewhere on the top fin. but i cant be wrong.

parrots are fairly easy to sex because theie tubes are out all the time once they are mature.the method s that don't include looking at the tube are not reliable at all. i have a male that has rounded fins and a female with pointy fins.i have two big males and both of them are fatter than my female. the females lay eggs frequently, like every two weeks, if there is a male CA cichlid in the tank with them that is larger than they are. you should see eggs before too long if you have both sexes in your tank.
