I was just admiring my newly setup 55g community tank filled with a strange variety of fish, when I realized that my community tank is more fulfilling to stare at then my "prehistoric" tank filled with bichirs that mostly hide or chill out in the plants. I like the constant movement and activity in the tank, always something interesting to look at, unlike large new world cichlids that often just hide in a cave, or try to attack you all day, never acting natural I guess. Maybe more of us should try a community type tank with smaller fish and a larger tank that is nice aquascaped
