I was just admiring my newly setup 55g community tank filled with a strange variety of fish, when I realized that my community tank is more fulfilling to stare at then my "prehistoric" tank filled with bichirs that mostly hide or chill out in the plants. I like the constant movement and activity in the tank, always something interesting to look at, unlike large new world cichlids that often just hide in a cave, or try to attack you all day, never acting natural I guess. Maybe more of us should try a community type tank with smaller fish and a larger tank that is nice aquascaped ;)

Some pics of the inhabitants.

FTS?

I recently added 5 new clown loaches, and 8 rainbowfish into my 180 central american tank. It really livened it up. I know what you mean that it is more satisfying to gaze at :)

I'm so debating on making my 75g a big community tank instead of getting an oscar for it :O

I went from Cichla to planted community for quite a while. I got so bored with it. I just went back to Cichla.
