Once you go community, you don't ever go back.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i tried the communtiy tank for about 2 weeks with my 240g and got tired of it and went to african cichlids for about 4-5 months but have come full circle back to predator fish.

pfft... this is MFK... why have one type? my guilty pleasure is my daughters tank.. bread and butter com fish... and a sewelia loach, starry night eel to jazz it up!... she loves all the color and activity of the guppies.. and my husband and I get our exotics so we actually keep up with maintenece. its essentially the dumping grounds for any interesting comm fish i see at the lfs.

A community tank should have fish at every level of water column, and active fish. But at the same time you need to get fish that you wouldn't expect in a community that are fun to watch, for example, my electric blue crayfish. Also I have 6 rams in my tank that show spawning and territorial behavior which is fun, mini aggressive cichlids. Also a pretty tank is essential to a good community tank IMO. I really like how anywhere you look in the tank, there's something to watch. My "prehistoric" tank is nice, and I love my Polys more then any other fish, but let's be honest, how fun is it to stare at a fish just hangin out.

I like your rams. I have a planted 15g GBR breeding trio and it's fun to watch their spawning behaviors! What kind of rams do you have?

Multiple tanks with variety is what I like. Why choose between community, agressive, or single wet pet? Have them all!
