One fish you hate and why?

Hybrids. They are rubbish to the hobby.

Hate is a very strong word. Very few things in this life I actually hate, and a fish is not one of them. I dislike cichlids (except discus because they don't look like cichlids) and catfish. Those are two fish (well actually thousands of them) that will never be in my tanks. Kinda ironic because that seems to be what most people here like to keep! lol!

"Freshwater" puffers. Those things suck. And parrots, just plain ugly.

I dont really like giant fish, they just seem like a waste of space to me, id rather have more colorful tropical fish

I have always liked pure sp. as nature intended.

I know right? Because its not like it occurs in nature. And if for some magically impossible reason it did occur it would still be unnatural.

anyway a fish i just plain has to be Pbass. I just find them ugly and boring. they just lurk around and eat. and they get huge. I have seen some impressive looking ones, and if I could somehow get hold of small ones for a good price, I would probably give them a go. but so far I just don't see what the obsession with them is.
do you have to keep them to understand the obsession? if so then I guess I understand.

I used to hate pleco's because I found them boring. until I got my current pleco who is now around 17". he comes and begs for food, patrols the tank and follows me around. hes the only pleco I've ever owned that actually has a personality besides "hang on the glass" maybe its just cause the big ones are more personable? either way peoples opinions change, the fish you hate today could be the one you love tomorrow

I think Pbass look awesome. But it's the way they stay so still in the tank that bugs me sometimes. It's not like an aro that's always swimming around. Pbass will stay in one spot for about 5 minutes it seems until you feed them. Some cichla species are beautiful though, especially less than full grown temensis. Just love the gold spangling on them because it's pretty and unique.

I never really got into plecos before either, but check out Sunshine (L014), Green Phantom (L200) and Golden Nugget (L081) plecos. The patterns on them are some of the nicest on any fish.
