A few months. They are mean. Mine ate my black nasty as soon as I put them in the tank. They like hard water believe it or not. They get pretty big, fat and tall. Very pretty when mature.....

How many do you have? Do they get on with each other??

I have 2 and I had to separate them. The inferior one gets owned so he is with smaller fish to boost his psyche. They seem to be fine with other fish though. 1 tank has some large pink cons, baby bass, and a small school of Texas. The other is with con grow-outs (I am shocked he is so timid) And a couple nandopsis tetracanthus grow-outs.
