That may not be fotoshoped;) Some tropical beatles have larvae that size. That would be a case of ugly ducling kind of thing, as from that larva a increable beatle may emerge:headbang2 Think something like a giant rhinocerus beatle;)
 
For example;) But I personaly think it belongs to giant centaur beatle:confused: In the island of New Caledonia and on Fidji there are some that are really HUGE unfornatly they can already be on the brink of extinction:(
 
Same family. All the scarabeids have similar grubs, with the characteristic C shape.

Coura- are you referring to Xixuthrus heros? It is a cerambycid; their grubs are somewhat similar, but do not have the C shape and have annular welts on the body.
 
I wonder what that would taste like fried....:drool:
