I just got rid of a pair of dovi the 1st one def a male second is a female I kept one of my females I had from the fry.........

The male should make it real simple and let you know if the other one is a female! Look for courting signs!

Ok got the divider in so I'll give it a week or so and see how it goes. What courting signs should I keep an eye out for?

Some lip locking, head shaking, maybe some tail slapping. The male will show off. The female will test the male, just be sure to keep close eye on them when you reintroduce them. If all goes well they will then start to clear an area spawn. Good luck, hope it works.

I have a 4" dovii and i have posted several threads asking the members to help out with the sexing. A lot of the members think is a male but this dovii doesn't have any spots above the laternal line, which confused the heck out of me, too. Like Aquatik said... I am hoping the speckles will show up when it reaches 5 or 6".

Is it odd that the bigger one doesn't have spots above the lateral line? I think that's the main thing that's had me wondering about that one

They sit right next to eachother on opposite sides of the divider. #2 gets these stripes and twitches when they're near eachother and #1 swims back and forth banging on the divider
