Saw some people asking about the African butterfly fish , so here's my experience.

they don't grow big at all, but i'd recomment atleast 2ftx1ft footprint for a large surface area for them.

when there happy there at the surface, when there stressed they will swim lower, provide some cover that floats on or close to the surface, and they will spend time at the front of the tank, if there is no cover hide in the back corner.

max size is something i don't know, someone should google it, but i've had mine from 1/2inch and is currently about 2 inch's long. bit of a rare species in my area, so grabbed him as soon as i saw him, although from memory it's 4 inch's.

do fine aslong as theres no other species of surface fish, and none that nip there fins. seems fine with other butterflys, but every other surface fish gets killed...

for feeding, live crickets, moths, general insects are taken well.
mine also likes, cichlid gold pellets (floating, 1mm) only one eats pellets though, maybe another keeper can comment more on feeding.

easy rather inactive, very beautiful fish and very graceful...

i do have a favourite though, one of mine swims up to my hand if it's ever near the tank, and follows me if i walk by loves a pat, nips my fingers if i splash them gently on the surface. only one like this, bit of an odd fish personality wise.

Disclaimer : it's 1am in the morning, all from my personal experience so if it's incorrect i am sorry, only been keeping this specific fish for a few months. anything missing, google it, lots of info.
