That's total bs, I have had convics for years now, the male doesn't kill the female after breading he nips her, till she lays eggs again, convics are rabits, they'll try and bread as much as they can in a short period
 
yeah, you will likely experience some hostility after breeding, though thats not always the case. I would watch for the female as the aggressor more than anything however. Kinda funny watching her chase the male away (just fleeing!) when shes in a bad post spawn mood.

Worst case personally involved a tail being bitten off (grew back) but other than that no real emergencies post breed.
 
i dont think they wud kill they take care of their babies for quite some time... and they breed over and over... but u do need a fairly large tank for it thou...

definitely... granted this is a generalization and is not always true, but for the most part males are the more aggressive prespawning, however post spawning and during fry rearing the female is usually more aggressive. :thumbsup:
 
It usually takes me a year or two to want to kill my girlfriend... :ROFL:
