Looks great! You can have whatever deco you want. Some like it natural, but I have seen tanks with a substrate with marbles, and nothing but metal objects for deco. To each his own, tank raised fish don't know the difference. I like natural, but I really like your tank too.
 
One thing to be careful of with this setup though. As you know, Malawis are chasers. Watch for cuts on the sides of the bodies from catching a sharp edge on one of the pots at top speed. I've got lace rock in my tank and have a similar problem, the fish get scrapes all the time. Usually not a big deal, the scrapes heal soon enough. Just watch to see that the scratches and cuts heal.

What are old red lines?

I counted 6, 3 pink and 3 black. Funny thing. Not my taste personally but to each his own. I bet the folks love it. Hell, if there was something like that set up in my doctor's office I might not have such a problem going more often. :D
 
sweet tank, i like the pot idea too. i prefer longer tanks though i think fish in a tall tank look crowded but its up to the owner i guess.
