Black sand and driftwood would look really nice, and could add a retro bichir, the green colors show will be really nice on the dark substrate. (unlike in my tank.)
uhg now that i've seen this i'm so tempted to put my flowerhorn in with my bichirs and remove the rest of my stock... but i know better he's a nasty bugger haha
i would never put a flowerhorn with bichirs lol not a good idea mines not a hybrid its a shortbody texas a natural occurring shortbody i have tryed so much to get a fh and polys in the same tank it just never worked for me i even had a 3inch fh with a big sen the tank even had a divider idk how the flowerhorn found away to rip its fins off
