Saw a fish that looked similar at the LFS today. The closest label they had was Jack Dempsey. Looked less speckled like this one so I wasn't sure. He looked chubby enough to be a Dempsey though.

Jags are generally fine with tankmates in big enough tanks, 6'+. Dovii are a different story when full grown.

since i now have to sell my ray i will have a 125gal for this dovii solo. i will have the jags in with the pbass and gars in the 180gal.

i may also try a festae or some choco cichlids. i dont know for sure. i have the dovii in a box alone right now. i had to move a cat into the growout to make sure it starts eating and i didnt want the dovii to be one of those first meals.

i recomend getting one if you have the space. although shy right now, it already has alot of blue in the fins and some good yellow base.
