Im setting up one of my 10 gallons to store feeders and the filter i have for it is a top fin 10 gallon filter. The filter is really loud for some reason no matter how much i clean it. so my question is could i use a air hose that connects to a fake clam to keep the water flowing for my feeders? or do i have to use the filter?

I have the Top Fin 30 gallon, it shouldn't make much noise. It could be the cover vibrating or maybe there is some air stuck in the intake tube/impeller area.
Im not sayin its a bad filter. I just want to know if a air tube and air pump would do the job for the feeders....

You need a place for the beneficial bacteria to grow that is in the path of water flow so that ammonia gets converted to nitrite, and then to nitrate... in short, you need a filter. Otherwise, the waste that the fish produce will stay in the tank as toxic ammonia and never be converted, which means that the feeders will die way before they ever see your fishes' mouths. Also, QT'ing feeders is meant to provide clean conditions so that they can be treated for parasites and bacterial infections prior to feeding, so good water quality is necessary.
