One tank isnt enough.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I hate to break it to ya, but 2 tanks isnt enough either ;)
A few things I always say to the younger members:
Its good to be ambitious, but itll come in due time. Eventually you have to leave your parents. If you go to college, you will not be able to take the tanks. So who can properly care for them for 3-4 years? I work alot of seasonal/temp jobs. its a real pain to move 7 tanks every 3-6 months. I have alot of plans to upgrade and make new tanks but that cant happen until I have my own permanent place. The fact that I need a car to move just my fish supplies, makes it difficult when you have to move a whole apartment. Just saying, dont rush into the hobby until you can support it.

Last thing, maybe your parents will only let you have the one tank, but can that be an upgraded tank? Talk to them about aking down your 60 and putting up a 75 or 125 instead. When I was young, thats what I did. They knew I wanted bigger than a 10 and eventually I got a 37.

2 is not enouf:nilly:!!!! I have 7 tanks... 1, 10 gallon, 1, 15 gallon, 1, 29 gallon, 1, 36 gallon 1 ,65 gallon, 1, 75 gallon and last but least my 48x24x24 120 gallon!!! My 10 and 15 gallon are in progress and i will start stocking them in a few weeks... with 5 runing tanks and soon to be 7, it is not enouf, there is never enouf. I just don't get why you cant buy tanks with your own money. Whats the big deal???? Well art least you can get a 40 gallon... Why do they say "1 is enouf" they are trying to control your happiness level? LOL...

kinda like drinks to an alcoholic ...1 is too many... 10 isnt enough...

I think I would be happy with two but they would both have to be huge like 2000g.Then I could have one huge community tank then one rough tank.

Congrats getting permission for the second tank dude. But you should save up and take Shenanigans advice. After all, a 40 gal is kinda small so stocking options are a little limited.

I'm just trying to get another tank for my redbreast. My dad may be moving to a house with a basement. If we do I will be able to get a lot more. Maybe even an indoor pond with bowfin and LNG. as long as I pay for it and build.

I would give a fish away so you have vaviation of fish in your aquarium casue you only have 2 tanks...

No two fish have the same personality, so if you like your redbreast, dont give him up for anything. You can always get another redbreast but the experience will be different.

Oh, the other thing I forgot. We all know this is an expensive hobby. Especially when you are starting out young, the cost of our hobby can really hinder you from doing things. I didnt buy alot of toys and video games, and then later on, I had to buy cheap groceries or watch TV instead of going out on a date. College life = usually poor, college life + expensive hobby = always poor lol

There are more important things in life you need to save for, car, rent, moving expenses. When I was your age I blew my money on fish, just saying you will have to save money for other things, expensive things unfortunately. I never thought about any of these things until I met my future wife :D Think about the future and just dont get in over your head until you are ready for life
