Online fish purchase experience

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
when I ship fish I always double bag, usually bag the fish singly and use heavy duty styro boxes.
I put fragile, perishible and liquid on the box as Ive found putting live fish on the box seems to be bad.The boxes often take longer and must get shaken up or something cause i get the worst results when I put "live fish" on the box.

Your experience with **************** seems to be the norm for them now. Way back when they used to be a good place to get fish, but my last order (few years ago) came the way you described. Out of a whole box of fish only one made it. To top it all off they wanted me to pay full shipping cost to ship replacements. Do a search for **************** reviews, you will see what I mean.

LiveAquaria.com is too expensive, IMO, for the fish they offer. Although I have ordered from them before I won't anymore just because of that. Check out their new price on feeder shrimp, it's doubled!

Petsolutions has a better selection, better prices on fish and shipping. My experience was great with them.

I've had bad experiences on Aquabid, but I just don't order from those sellers anymore. The sellers had/have good feedback (one is even a vendor on MFK now) and it sucks because the one seller has some really cool fish for sale, but based on my previous experience I won't order from them again.

I'm Australian, so this wont apply to most of you...

I tried to buy three clown loaches from livefish.com.au. They sent me two electric yellow cichlids, an albino bristlenose and some other bristlenose. The next day, my loaches arrived. They weren't dead, but they weren't far from it. They all died over the next two days. All of the fish that I didn't order are still alive and well in my tanks.

I've ordered mollies and sharks from **************** int he past and they've always been clearly labeled, well packed and most importantly the fish were alive and unharmed.

It has been a year since I've ordered anything from them though.

edit: just browsed pet solutions and it seems that they have a decent selection but tank requirements are way off. liveaquaria.com has much better info with the fish they sell.

I have ordered from Rapps and they always arrive in good condition..
