I received an online order today from a vendor I have never used before. I would like to get some opinions in regards to one of the fish I received. Will refrain from using the vendors name yet but 2 of the 7 fish I ordered arrived dead. I understand that this happens occasionally. One that was deceased while upsetting I was ok with because the fish looked to be in decent condition. The other is pictured below. Can a fish deteriorate this rapidly after death while packed in an individual bag?

Yes. Sorry should have mentioned that. It was shipped yesterday and arrived to me today.

They do and I am waiting to see how they handle it which is why I did not post their name. That fish looks like it similar to fish that have died in my tank and been chewed on before I have been able to remove. At best I judging by the condition of the fins I think the fish was on its last legs when shipped.

Yeah that what I was looking at the tattered fins don't really know if ammonia could do that that quickly.

That's nice of you to wait for the vendor to make this right.

i would pretty much never order fish online
might as well go to a local fish store and see if they can order the fish for you

I have ordered fish many times. Only two orders have ever gone bad. One was from Snake River cichlids. By no fault on the vendor FedEx lost the package and delivered it 4 days late. Snake River reshipped the same order at no charge to me since all of the fish arrived DOA. This would be the second time I have had issues. See how it works out. I have probably ordered 10 times online in the past.
