in the canadian legal system there is one department you just dont mess with and its the department of game and fishery, they can take your boat car and house if you fish without a license of take too much in one day if they want. they are like rangers in the us but with federal authority, that meen that they are nuts and they fing ways of entertaining them selves durring the off months and that includes raiding houses for fun cuz they can...

those ppl are nutz

That's true

You're better off shooting your neighbor then a moose out of season. if they have a doubt you're poaching (and i guess keeping a bass in an aquarium without a fishing license is poaching), they'll knock at your door and walk right in.

How they would hear about that is beyond me, but if they do... And I'm not kidding.

THE MNR HAS MORE ATHOURITY THAN THE POLICE! its scary, i mean, peoiple say that youll never get caught, but people do get caught. how did those guys get caught with a whole bunch of walley fillets in there freezer. they do not need permits to come in or search your car/house, thats the scary part. animals are more protected that humans. and please, no more talk of shooting moose, LOL, one might actually be your neighbour one day.

ahahahah i'm a 20 year old university student with a perfectly clean record..... If he even tries to raid my house i'll have a surprise waiting for him... like a bat

Do you have to post a sign outside warning of attack bats?

Do you really think they're going to worry about a bat flying in their hair? :D

Yea...I know...

i belive its againest the law here fish caught are intended for consumption there is some problems wwith non native fish and they dont want to add to it..
i'll check into it because i was thinking the same would like a northern pike..

I have looked into it and all it is, is another taxation bs for them to get even more money. Yes I have a fishing liscense so I am aloud to keep a bass in an aquarium..... BUT only in season. For me to keep him out of season in a aquarium....... here's the best part it is illegal...UNLESS I buy a permit from the MNR which entitles me to keep the bass..... LOL when I heard this I started laughing at the lady on the phone...... I was like keeping the fish out of season is wrong in your eyes, but if I give you money, then it's all better?? LOL the lady didn't know what to say lol

Don't confuse government workers with FACTS!

Keeping native fish...$$
Keeping native fish...with a license - $$$
Keeping native fish out of season...PRICELESS (Well...almost) how much for a permit?

Ummm. just a heads up. various DNR's watch these forums. They are likely not after simple native fish keepers, instead are looking for Channa importation. I would strongly reccomend keeping it on the up and up, or who knows what they will do when they are bored.

lol i don't think there gonna bother with me when I have one fish in a tank lol theres people out there with freezers full of fish. If someone knocked on my door i would dress the fish up in a pretty leaopard print dress and say its a jaguar cichlid
