IMO that one is how they should look....if they are a true wc arguaria.
Ive said it a million times...i have no issue w/ cb fish. BUt I do have a problem w/ them being sold as "wc" whe they are indeed "cb".
It seems all aspects of life are tainted to make a buck :(

I kno what you mean, pretty soon were gonna need documents like the Asian arowanna keepers get to prove authenticity....collection point, wc or cb.

I see what your talking about.
I guess I can be happy they were under $200ea...most closer to a hundred.
But w/ the amount of f1s available here and overseas I would expect to see the prices start dropping again soon like the bahias.
We dont have a lot of kelberi other than bahia's available fs that are bred in the US. But overseas there is a lot of azuls, kelberis and hybrids available in bulk. And cheap as hekk for those f1s. How many of this years kelberi imports are actually wc? Im sure the majority of them are cb...but labeled as wc. We shall soon see when they start shedding those juvie colors and patterns.
Outta the 3 in my tank I bet only 1 is actually wc.

I was doing some reading on another forum and the guys in sg are complaining about how local breeders are destroying the genetics and how they don't get a lot of wc cichla because only the die hard cichla fans are willing to pay for them. As far as kelberi you really only see Bahia and Araguaia over there and mainly f1's and up. I have 2 Araguaia's and they look completely different as long as at least one is wc I'll be happy.

The little azul is already punkin out the kel twice his size..
ANd at the rate the biggest kelberi is growing I will be tossing him in w/ the big boys in a month or 2.

The azul just isnt growing for crap...but think he is so tuff.
The one w/ the super dark bar looks like an sg mutt to me. Supposed to be wild...hmmm.
