Thats really interesting because i have a massive 18" datnioides pulcher and he refuses to eat even tiny fish like when i had im a a 4x2x18" while i cleaned the tank out he was in with a shoal of 12 3-4" torpedo barbs and didnt touch them!

Datnoids, I think have individual characters. I got my ST when he was 10" long and was used to eating feeder fish. I changed his diet and was overfeeding him daily with mp's. He's like an eating chomp machine. Last week I stopped feeding him for two straight days since his stomach was so full/bloated. While watching my tank, I saw him devoured my two CL's in less than 30 seconds and was trying to swallow my small ornate too so I panicked and fed him more MP's instead lol! Felt bad coz I got attached to those CL's. They were in my tank since day one and survived the cycling period.

Is this yawning thing something that all dats do as i thought it was to do with water quality?
