A group of up to say 15 individuals would do well together in your tank. They are OK in a 5ft 100g tankStanzzzz7 ? How many do you think I could keep in there, and would I keep them in a harem or multiple males is OK?
Thanks for the info. I'm going to keep my eye out for some variant of thorichthys

Thorichthys are quite slow growing. Those are nice too....
I think this is exactly what I'm needing. A larger school of fish in my life. To bad I can't seem to find anything over an inch or so. Are thorichthys slow growers? Anyone ever order from wet spot?

The Cribroheros group, like Thorichthys is another of the central American earth eaters (formerly Astatherines) have a number of species that do well in groups (shoalers) and do well in hard water and a 100gallon. Cribroheros rostratum below
I kept mine in heavily planted tanks with a lot of current
and one that cichlidfish mentioned above Theraps lentiginosim would do well in such a tank.
